Exclamation Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch Installed But...

I just got my lightweight flywheel and clutch installed on my G. Under load my car makes a distinct rattle sound from about 1500-2500rpm and then stops. It seems like the clutch is making this sound or the flywheel may be unbalanced maybe? Can anyone give me some input on the subject matter. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

lighter flywheels will make more noise, the stock flywheel had a dampener on it that helped with the noise...its normal

It's normal. You're going to have to live with it.

It's normal. It is called "chatter".
The stock flywheel is dual-mass meaning there are two parts connected by springs to dampen the sound. The lightweight ones are a single piece that allows all the sound to go through it.

It's not hurting anything. Mine does it too. The installer should have warned you before doing it.

Agreed. It might also go away after it's broken in. So make sure you break it in correctly

Wild. I just bought a new 06' 6MT and it does the exact same thing. Only in 1st, and only at low rpm's. Sound is gone by about 2500, and sounds like a rattle...

Same rattling noise happens on my 93 Vette. Went from dual mass flywheel ($1000 flywheel) to a single mass flywheel, (lighter and cheaper).

The F430 has better power:weight, so that's not a relevant comparison
