With regards to a swapping American motors into Japanese cars, and vice versa, it's up to the owner.
For me, an LS motor might be interesting, an RB more so, a 4.5 liter conversion even more so.
the vq does is definitely smoother underway. The only reason why the vq may seem american is that frankly it's really damn torquey, and their previous motors have pretty much all been 3 liter twin turbo's whether v6 or i6

The LS series is one of the best modern engines being built right now. Let me put it to you this way. One cam, no VTC gadgetry, no turbos or SC and the thing stills puts out TONS of power. All in a package thinner than a VQ35 and most likely shorter (height-wise). And I'll bet it's not that heavier.
^^^Exactly!!

LIES!!!!!! TRY mid 40's. You can pick up a nice used G for 25k, so that's an extra 20k you can spend on modding alone (enough for a 6-700 hp g easily), just to make it even. The G is not even comparable to the Corvette. They are in completely different brackets.

That logic is lame. Were talkin new car prices here.

You could buy a 1990 eclipse gsx for 1500 and spend the extra $38,500 on mods and be the fastest car in the world.

New G35 = 35k
New Vette = 42ish ( I dont buy $39k either)

somebody extract the tumor that is the "debate" between the superiority of american/japanese cars from a thread about swapping a rb into a g35 coupe.

unless the guy isn't going to bother updating this anymore. In which case, we can retitle this thread to "closed minded 'car enthusiasts' argue over two widely diverse categories of car types, only to end up where they started: that they are different. duh."

different philosophies of car manufacturing, design, and engineering equals different strengths and weaknesses. it's really not that hard to understand. The only way to transcend the gaps is to spend tons of money.

+1000000. Nobody's going to win this debate, regardless which cars are actually superior. It's completely subjective.
