Injen CAI Install Question?
Injen CAI Install Question?
I just got my Injen CAI yesterday and I am going to install it tomorrow. Can anyone give me some feedback on if it is absolutely required to remove the front bumper to install the intake. The instructions says that it is, but I was trying to avoid it!!! Thanks All!
You can install it as a short ram and not remove the bumper cover.
If you want to install it as a cai then I don't think there is any way around it. The 2 bolts on the inner fender on each side is the worst part of removing it. Other than that, it's not to bad.

you can jack up the driver side, take the wheel off, pop out the 10+ plastic rivets holding the liner in, then peel it back to have access to the filter area without taking off your bumper...btw you might have to trim some of the foam on the bumper assembly to get the filter to sit correctly
Yeah you can install it without removing the bumper...... it may be a little harder and time consuming though.
Its not that hard though.... I can take my bumper off in a matter of 5 min now.

The first time you install it's easier when you remove the 2 screws on the drivers side of the bumper so you can remove that foam bumper guard underneath in order to put the filter on. Or like the above guy said you can go through the wheel well which may be even more tedious. On subsequent filter changes you can just go through the wheel well.
