Question Horse Power Difference

I have a 06 G35 Coupe with Auto.

Auto 280 HP

Manual 298 HP.

I have always been under the impression that auto makers list Flywheel HP #.

What is the difference in these engines to have a 18 HP variance?

Thanks in advance

They are flywheel hp but as Nissan has done in the past, they sometimes overrate some numbers and underrate others. I know the manuals have the eCVTCS for exhaust valves and CVTCS on the intake side while the autos only have it on the intake side which would make for some of the power difference. The manuals make their peak hp 200 rpms higher than the autos, of course in completely stock vehicles. Only the dynos will tell the truth though. The other thing to consider is the autos are rated for higher peak torque.
