Exclamation TS hood + Rain Guards

Guys...i have a 04 coupe that has just been supercharged (ATI) and i also have a ts style hood from Seibon as well. I have yet to put on the hood though because i am worried that rain will get into the supercharger or belts or whatever and dont wanna spend a $hit load of money to have it repaired. I heard of rain gurads from the Top Secret hoods but is there ANYTHING else i can do to help the rain stay out of my engine bay??? Is there something i can buy to block off rain water or debris from getting in? Thanks...

P.S. - will top secret sell the rain guards without the hood? WHo could i contact and will the still fit the Seibon hood??

Best bet is going to be duct tape. No TS wont sell you the guards. That why they make then for THEIR hoods.

Not to much water really gets in there. You proly get more water from your front grille. But if your really worried, custom fab. something to divert water away but that will also fit without hitting the pro chrarger. Good luck

personally, i would buy rain guards for the ts style hood. i would only use them during the rain for the purpose of keeping my engine bay as clean as possible. i wouldnt be too worried about them keeping the temp up since it would just be like having an oem hood and would only be used during the rain aka seldomly.

you know...i went to the Seibon site and it said that if u want a custom piece made for ur car (in carbon fiber probably, but they might make this rain guard as well), they will do it if you order 20 pieces or more. I'm gonna call tomorrow and see what they say cause I'm SURE we have atleast 20 buyers on this site...if not, Jim can buy a bunch and sell them along with the TS hoods he has

Bad news guys....I called Seibon and they said they tried to rig something up a while back but it interfered with the hood clearence of the engine. I said Top Secret has rain guards and its the exact same hood, so why could they do it and you couldn't? Why not just copy their design and sell it 75% cheaper then they do? He was like "Uh...we tried, we couldnt. Try cutting sheet metal in to little pieces that cover the vents." I might give that a shot...i'll keep u guys updated...

Rain won't hurt anything. Some rain might fall in when your car is parked or at idle and not moving. But at idle your car isn't really pulling much air in the through the intake.

While your car is moving the air is entering through the front grll and EXITING through the hood vents. No rain will be falling in while your car is moving and the throttle open.

I really wouldn't worry about this guys... The front grill is a MUCH bigger opening and more air/water is coming in through there. Cars were designed to be driven during the rain also...

GReddy...while that is very true and i understand everything ur saying, i gotta ask this: "is it still safe to use with an ATI supercharger installed?" One of the vents is actually almost right on top of the blower itself so i dont want to take any risks since it cost so much to buy (let alone install). Just wanna be safe...im sure u can relate
