Thoughts?

Just had my G on the dyno today. Mods include, spacer, air intake kit, 2.5" cats and exhaust and reprogrammed flash. The G is an automatic. (Don't give me hell, wife can't drive a stick so we compromised)

244 hp at the wheels.

What do you guys think? How can I determine the HP at the flywheel?

No true way without actually just doing an engine dyno. You can make an estimate based on drivetrain losses, but you'll probably be off by at least 3-5 %. Even then, dyno results can vary depending on other factors like tranny temperature, the way the car is mounted, etc.

What kind of "exhaust"? Gotta love that flat torque curve too....

As an aside and a little rant. Why is everyone so worried about crank horsepower? It's where the tire meets the pavement that counts.

I have the Altered Atmosphere 2.5" true dual exhaust. AAM is a shop in MD that specializes in G35/350 power mods.

I know that it's tire meets the pavement that counts, but when some asks how much hp do you have, I'd much rather say 310, than 244 at the wheels. It just sounds better. ;-)

when someone asks about your HP they always will mean at the wheel... I doubt anyone will ever expect you to tell them crank HP...
