Smile I need horsepower

Whats Up everyone. I'm new to this site and also a new owner to the 04 G35 coupe w/ brembo. I like to get some more horsepower and like to see what can I do to get extra hp for this engine. I'm spending 1200 and I can do the basic Intake, Exhaust, Headers deal or maybe a Utec computer i heard about. Any suggestion is welcome and any proven results will help me. I'm trying to improve my time on the track.

Good luck gettin intake, headers, exhaust for 1200 maybe just a good exhaust.. a utec would be useless unless you had a handful or more of bolt ons and/or FI.

with 1200, you'll be able to get a good exhaust OR nice headers OR a utech.

you wont be able to get all of 'em. parts for this car are damn expensive!

i wouldn't bother with tuning the car until it has a few more mods on it tho

imo, start with an exhaust.

I didn't mean 1200 for all three of the part..ahha..that would be an awesome deal. I meant...I want to start off with 1200 on something..but don't know whick parts to get first. Probably the Exhaust then header and intake after. The Utec, how does it work??? Do I need to mod my car first before installing that?

I don't know much about ECU programming and stuff like that, but after modding, your a/f ratio and crap changes. Well gettin a Utec can sync all your mods together to run more efficiently. From what I hear, if you have a bunch of bolt ons, its very helpful.

A little off topic,

But I think im sold on the Stillen Exhaust for the Coupe.

Especially if I get some good savings on Stillen Day.

HKS and FI are great, but it seems as if Stillen fits my needs.

Too bad its the heaviest.

Clam,

make sure you get a Spacer as your first mod if you want power over sound. Its cheap and produces good gains

.

Really Spacer can give me a good gain? Which is best for my engine? I heard something about this but wasn't to sure. I have the 04 G35 and it redline at 65000rpm. What is the percentage in gain should I expect as well as cost???

Man...Everyone is really helpful...Thanks everyone the participated in helping a Newbie...lol

dont expect too much out of the spacer. it's not going to be an "OMG" night and day difference. you'll feel a lil more "pep" but if you expect too much, then you will be disappointed.

Fast Intentions Intimidator Exhaust! :d I love mine, couldnt be happier with it. The gains are great, the quality is kick-***, the looks are classic, and the price is right!

for $1200 I suggest intake and exhaust (might be a little over $1200 depending on which exhaust)...

MD spacer is a great mod! Best bang for the buck IMO. As opposed to previous poster, I did feel a definite difference after installing spacer. No bolt on will give you neck jerk performance, but the spacer doses produce gains (butt and actual dyno)… OP you asked which one for 04 – it’s not necessarily year specific… I have an 04 AT and run ˝”. The MREV2 is another consideration. Good luck – search the hell out of these threads, you’ll find all the info you need to make a good decision.
