thinking about an intake

i have been reading up on these threads about an intake.. i have an 06 black g35 coupe AT. i was wondering what you guys think of this...

Pop Charger/Z-Tube Combo w/ JWT Recharge Filter oil = $212

or should i get a cold air intake? what you think?

most ppl would bash and tell you to SEARCH, but i'm a nice guy.... i have the z-tube and popcharger.... and i love it.... it roars likes a beast!. go to the marketplace they are selling pop chargers and ztube around 100 bucks. z-tube they are selling for around 40-60 bucks shipped... so just take a look around.

i think im going to get this after reading about the popchargers heating issues or something like that...

STILLEN HI-FLOW AIRBOX = $194.99
Nissan OEM Z Tube = $78.99

is that too pricey?

heck yea.. pop chargers come with a heat shield that helps prevent it from suckin in hot air but regardless, our cars get heatsoaked and we lose power anyway

alright guys.. final decision..

Z-tube / K&N Filter Combo = $118.50

how does that sound?

That is the cheaper route, but mostly just changes the sound. The only intake for our cars that will give any HP gains is the more Stillen Airbox.

So we're told. I'd love to see someone do some real dyno numbers for these intakes. Just strap a car on and keep swapping set-ups. Maybe someone can challenge the makers to a shoot out??? Doubt it. But other than that, it's mostly for sound. Too much hype about sucking up hot air.....blah blah blah. I had Z-tube and K&N then swapped out for a JWT (No shield) and really felt no gain from either performance wise. Sound wise I like the JWT combo. Hope it helps.
