1/4 mile times
I was wondering what kind of times you guys get at the dragstrip. I have a 04 5AT DP coupe my mods are Borla TD, Stillen CAI/ 350Z tube, ground wires and TS ECU. The fastest I got in the 1/4 was 14.248 at 99.30, but my reaction was 1.333. I think i can get high 13's if I work on that. I will post pics of my slips to prove my times. Tell me you guys times and what you think I need to add or work on. I got the the 14.2 in MM.

RT has nothing to do with ET. Your ET doesn't start until you break the second beam. Your RT is the time between the green and when you break the second beam. Basically you could sit at the light for 5 seconds and still run a 14.2. If you were bracket racing then your RT could come in to play if it was a close race.

Re: 1/4 mile times
It seems from teh reaction time that you are a shallow starter - which means that your ET times are already near their lowest possible. This is because you had a "head start" accelerating through the rollout distance until tripping the second beam (which starts your ET clock). Do you remember how many inches your rollout was? If it is 10+, you are a shallow starter, which gives you the best ET possible. Deep starting will give you a small reaction time but a higher ET number,

Wow, you're making a lot of assumptions on his staging shallow (or deep, for that matter).
There is no possible way to look at somebody's reaction time and determine if they were staged shallow or deep. It's impossible. The best you can do is make a guess.
I can stage shallow or deep and get the same exact reaction time. It's all about anticipating the lights.
I agree that staging shallow gives you the best possible ET, because you're basically tripping the start clock from a tiny rolling start. But done properly, you can get a great reaction time from staging shallow as well. I stage shallow almost all of the time, and I regularly get somewhere in the .500's. and sometimes in the .600's on a "bad" start with a sportsman tree.
Of course a Pro tree would be tougher, because you can't anticipate the lights as much, but most people racing street cars on the track are dealing with a sportsman tree.

Yes that's right I made the assumption thinking that some of that reaction time was attributed to a shallow start. I guess I stand corrected on that. But I was just trying to make the point that you do get a better ET off a shallow start due to the "head start" that you get with it, and I guess you agree with me on that.

Re: 1/4 mile times
What is your 60' times....basically if we know what your 60' times are..we can tell if there is room for improvement. Put it this way...for every tenth of a second off your 60', you will bascially shave off two tenths of a second on your quarter....your launches are really important on your quartermile times. So lets say you had a 2.3 60' time on your 14.248 run...if you get it down to 2.2, you should be able to get about a about 14 second run. Or better yet if you get it down to a 2.1 60' you will be able to get a high 13. I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the info on the 60 ft time. I'm new to this so i'm in the learning process. Do you have the same wheels on both of your cars? They look alike. Well here is a picture of my BEEF and RICE.
