With Nano filter technology oil change every 25k miles.

I changed my oil 3 weeks before my Laguna Seca track day. I checked it 3 months later and after putting about 5k miles on it and the oil was still honey colored. I was amazed I was thinking with a stillen CAI it will make the oil dirty a bit quicker. But the oil was clean as the day I put it in.

I'm also using the ASL 5w30. It's just the full synthetic rated at 25K miles. I change them every 10K miles or so. Been good since then.

Is 7500m too early to switch to Synthetic? I'm going to be doing the 07 Sedan 7500m intervals vs 3750 considering most of our miles are highway with no abuse.

FLiP22 - just stick with 5w-30 like the manual recommends

vstrizheus - Millage isn't the issue. My IS250 have been running full synthetic from factory. It only helps

In OC (So Cal) NAPA is the only place I know that carries AmsOil - that’s where I get mine. Either in Orange or Santa Ana (all NAPA’s don’t carry it).

I think my mechanic uses Castrol or Valvoline synthetic. I change my oil every 5,000 miles. I'm not to concerned with what brand he uses because he does it for free

ASL FTW. It's only $1.xx more and good up to 25K. Just in case you don't have the time to change your oil every 3-5K, you don't have to worry. I change mine between 7-10K using ASL while using Amsoil Ea Oil filters. With the preferred customer discount, it's almost the same price as Mobil 1.

As an AMSOIL dealer of 19 years experience, I will try to help you out here. The ASL 5W-30 has a recommended and warranted drain interval of up to 25,000 miles or one year. The Series 2000 0W-30 has a up to a 35,000 mile interval. Is 10,000 miles the only difference? No.

The Series 2000 line are AMSOIL's best performing oils and have a very special formulation in them for those demanding the absolute best engine protection and performance. I used AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30 in my daily driver to improve fuel economy by 12%, saving me hundreds of dollars a year in fuel costs.

The below wear test may also be of interest to you -

There are big differences amongst oils other than just viscosity and how long the oil might be suitable for use, or not.

I hope I have been of help.

I've been getting mine at NAPA but I never see more than one type/series... In fact what I get doesn't say 2000 or any of the series mentioned a couple of threads up... how do I know what series it is. And do you recommend 0W-30 over 5W-30? (So Cal - moderate infrequent day-to-day driving and occasional track)
