Anyone see anything missing here?!?!?!

right side of engine cover ^^

YES.. MY DIP STICK!@#!@#!@#

So after doing an oil change today. Stupid me attempted to check the oil with the dipstick. I've probably pulled that thing out 2 times the past 3 years I've owned my car! I change my oil regularly and i add oil very frequently for the turbo etc.

So I stick the dipstick back in.. and I go out for a drive to drop off some stuff at my friend's. I boost the car most of the way there since the car felt really smooth with new oil!

Next thing I know.. i pull up to the driveway and there's smoke coming outta my hood!@#!#

First thing-- I thought it I blew my turbo seal after reading all the TN seal posts on my350.

So then I start poking around.. the smoke was definately coming from the right side of the engine, right behind the turbo.. such a pita to look around that area!

So I see a little collection of oil next to one of the screws.. and definately some burning going on.. on the header.. Look around the turbo.. nope looks good, no exhaust smoke etc. Keep looking... and saw some oil build up around the dip stick.. I pull the dip stick out.. OMFG.. half of the rubber seal on the damn thing is MISSING...

So I tried many things to try to fix it.. orings around the dip stick.. plugs etc.. and I finally pulled a "McGiver" and went to HomeDepot and got a friggn' CORK.. And it FIT!!! I plugged it.. Have to wait until Monday to get to any open nissan/infiniti dealer!@#

I drove back to my place from my parents.. staying away from any hard driving. There was still some smoke.. I'm hoping it's just the left over oil its burning. I will be very happy if it's just a simple problem like a fux0red dipstick. The car seems to be running fine other than that! I doubt the car lost alot of oil.

I pulled the cork to check it and it looked clean.. I figured the cork is keeping the oil pressure in instead of letting the oil build up the dipstick line and getting anything oiled.

the smoke should only be the burning oil that has escaped onto any hot surface.

Drove out to pick up another dipstick from a fellow local Z guy. Gotta love g350zforums!

The car wasn't smoking that bad. Still a little bit of the smell. Will throw the new dipstick in and give it a good run once the car cools down..

Fixed!! Man did I luck out. And fortunate enough to be around Roger's parts shack!@#

The cork held up well hehe.. Got the dipstick from Roger and I headed home.. let the car sit for most of the day since it runs VERY hot with the turbo.. 3 hours later the block and turbo area was cool enough for skin contact. Pulled my McGiver cork out, and stuck the dipstick in. Definately alot tighter than my old dipstick!

Went out to meet Kev for a car wash in Woburn.. boosted it a good amount on the highway and checked it at his house.. No smoke!@#@! YAY.

THANKS ROGER!@#!

Ooh and for the people that were curious.. here's some pics with my phone.
Roger got a kick out of the cork haha..

THE CORK

The new dipstick THANKS ROGER!@!#!#

You know since everyone hates these dipsticks, why don't you market the cork???? Probably make a fortune, but you better call it a more "Official" name.

^^ I'm not sure if it would make sense to shave that dipstick.. The "plug" it has.. is very unique.

I'm sure if I went into hard boost while plugged with a crappy cork, the cork would probably pop like a wine bottle haha..

But it did look ALOT cleaner without that yellow dipstick.. something to think about..
