SUVLIGHTS.COM

Has anyone ordered from this place? I ordered the Ultinon 6000k HID replacement bulbs for my coupe from them yesterday. Just wondering what others have experienced as far as wait times and shipping.

6000K i dont think there will be a big difference in color betweem the stock 4100k and your 6000k. I have 8000k in mine and they are bright and purple. But what ever floats your boat.

If i were you i would go with the 8000k

Re: SUVLIGHTS.COM

I got the lights last week and installed them, they do make a big difference. The stocks look yellow compared to the Ultinons. I don't want to go to 8000k bulbs, as from my experience the usable light output (lumens) from them is far too low.

Re: SUVLIGHTS.COM

light output w/ 8000k bulbs is horrible....the color is also extremely blue & imo...ricey...you might as well have gone w/ a $20 set of blue bulbs to obtain the same effect.

Re: SUVLIGHTS.COM

Moog is right. There is a mountain of good information out there regarding headlamp color and how it affects vision. Many of the higher color (6000K+) and nearly all of the very high (7500K+) produce less than half of the 1000 lumens standard halogen bulbs produce. They may look neat, but are actually decreasing your visibility dramatically.

The aftermarket headlamp sector has become a big bandwagon of misinformation, exploiting good engineering simultaneously preying on the pocketbooks of the gullible. True, filterless, high-color Xenon arc discharge lamps produce excellent night time illumination. Be careful when you choose, especially with the bulbs that have colored glass or filters on them.

Re: SUVLIGHTS.COM

You don't have to get new ballasts if you get higher k bulbs. The required power to these bulbs are the same, so it does not make a difference if you get 5000k or 8100k, you could still use the oem ballasts.

Re: SUVLIGHTS.COM

In theory white light is the brightest possible light so i suppose 4300k-5200k ( almost the same color as sunlight) bulbs should have the best light output.. the higher the kelvin rate the lower the light output because they turn bluish and purple which is farther down the light spectrum..in which they give off less light as white color would..

Re: SUVLIGHTS.COM

Here are some links to pics. This is not my car, but mine looks exactly the same. Dont buy an off brand, get the Philips Ultinon 6000k D2R bulbs.
