Re: 10-15hp for $300

rule of thumb..

1psi = 9~10hp

so 3~4psi boost means approx 30~40hp gain. if you can't feel 30~40hp gain, you are on drugs.

Friends don't let friends drive stock

another thought

It doesn't need to be inline between filter and throttle.
You can mount eRAM outside filter..... if you can use it to charge the stock air box. Theoretically, it should work better since air outside airbox is denser.

Re: 10-15hp for $300

Perhaps you may feel the Hp increase in everyday driving, but in a controlled environment (1/4 mile strip), with only a 3-4psi boost, it's not much different. You don't usually sit at a stop light with your RPM needle idling at 4k and flooring every gear. I use to own a Mercury Capri turboed (a long time ago) and I barely felt the 4-5psi boost. I have a friend who was shooting 30shots of NOS in his Paso and even he could barely feel the added boost during his runs....nor did the guy with the RSX...but it showed up in their time slips. An added 0.3-0.5secs is not going to give you that much of a rush. Again, I was talking in terms of a 1/4 mile run in full throttle.

I'm gonna get ahold of the guy selling the blower this Friday. My friend and I are going to get one for his stock Civic just for kicks...and to test it out ourselves. If you're looking for real performance gains, then don't get it. But if you're just curious and want one, PM me and I'll give you his number.

. I also feel $300 is too deep.

I know something else that is deep! Just for kicks go to other sites and ask for their feedback. This is about as useful as that " passive radar jammer" that we have all seen in the "sucker" section.

Ok, I contacted the guy

He is not selling eRAM but something similar. Flow about 300cfm, single eram is 500.
He is new in this business so he hasn't got a web siteyet. Of course I didn't see a picture. Although his price is much reasonable than eRAM $70 for 3" and $95 for 4" (dual fan)
I decided to wait.
Early eRAM was built by hand (with glue on it). the 3.0 is much better constructed.
I have to see how this got build before I buy any.
I have a feeling someday this guy will come back to this forum.

If this is the case, I'll wait as well. I thought the guy was selling the one in those video clips.

Re: Ok, I contacted the guy

I'm not trying to flame, but wow... if this thing works so well, how come no major publications, or racers have ever mentioned it?

How come it isn't used in competition?

With regards to the person who knows a guy with an RSX-S that ran a mid 14 with E-Ram... My friend Tony Mo has an RSX-S that is in the mid 14's with a homemade intake... there is another RSX-S that comes to the strip with an Injen intake that runs low 15's.

It's all about the driver.

I also know a guy who ran a 14.5 with a GSR with no other aftermarket mods than an AEM intake.

Why bother arguing about this product? For those who want it, go out and buy it. For those who don't, don't. Simple.

Exactly....why argue about a product that's more hocus than pocus?

if you have turbo or s/c...

if you have turbo or s/c, you don't need this eRAM thing at all. eRAM put up 1psi. With any other kind of force induction system, you are looking at 10+ psi easily. No need for addition equipment to add another 1 psi. (if there is room for another psi, turbo or s/c can do it easily).

I don't have a G

If you want dyno sheet, go to their site and there are many dyno sheet.
I don't even have a G35. I had eRAM on my Z32 but didn't do a dyno since it cost money and I don't profile from it at all.

the other thing I like to share

I went autoX once when I had eRAM on my Z. They inspected and put me into group N, I think that's worse than supercharger but I don't have supercharger power. I think that answers you why no one use it in racing.

just want to tell you guys, I put my eRAM back

I already made a post on twinturbo.net. here is the post

Yes, I am putting eRAM back to my Z. If you are on this board long enough, you probably know that I had dual eRAM setup on my NA Z. Then I took them out for three reasons. One: that's $600 in total to get 1 psi boost, I don't feel worth it (I put them on my two other vehicles now). Second: The way I bond them inline with my intake ducts is poor and whole thing is kinda lose (eRAM itself use some glue in its construction). The third My setup it's so obvious to eyes of smoke check technician, they won't let me pass smoke.
Any way, I didn't think of putting eRAM back to my Z for a while until I saw the new eRAM design.... A unitbody constructed hull which is much stronger and neat. That's when my brain start to spin. My goal is to use just one eRAM for my Z.........
The problem I am facing is: there is no enough space in front of Z's MAF sensor and eRAM is stick out quiet lot. How can I reduce the legth?? In the mean time, I contcacted e-racing to see if I can replace my old eRAM shell with a newer one, They told me they can do it with $50 each.
I come out a methods to shorten the total length.

Get a K&N filter with 4" opening which is big enough to hold the entire eRAM inside. So I can fit this eRAM inside the filter. So the total length is not K&N filter plus eRAM, it's just the length of a K&N filter. And it's stealth.

K&N

|``````````````|------
|```````````------------
|``````````|\ /
|`````````/| \/ **** eRAM
|`````````\| /\ ****
|``````````|/__\______
|``````````````|------
|______________|

Sorry I don't have a picture of this setup, that for some reason I am not currently live in my house now. But this whole thing does work as dual eRAM set up. I am happy with the result and the cost.

Re: 10-15hp for $300

you guys are funny, all you have to do is build yourself a simple custom intake with KN filter, and make sure to take out the airbox too, will give 5-10 % in hp gain so about 10 more horsies
i plan on doing this when my g35c M6 comes in 2 months, will post pics

p.s. i've done this before on a 98 corolla, 00 prizm, and 98 accord v6, great hp and gas milage results, AND great engine sounds
