blown radiator?

well on my way to school today i heard my pullies slipping and noticed that my temp guage was climbing, so i pulled into the nearest gas station to check it out.. when i pop the hood coolant was slipping out of the radiator, maybe the hoses... and one of the clips that holds the fans to the radiator was broken...

i have no idea what could've caused it... outside temp was chilly (8am) and i wasnt driving hard at all...

now if i leave the car on and idle the temp stays fine, where it should be, but when i try drving, (like an old lady) the temp starts climbing and topping out.. so i had it towed to infiniti

now heres the thing i did buy the Nismo 1.3bar (i think) radiator cap... can they refuse to warranty my radiator because of this? i've had this cap on for over 2 yrs and had no issues with it ever

I don't care what kind of radiator cap you have, it won't pop clips on your radiator fan. If there is any way that the radiator problem can be attributed to the cap (I doubt it), the dealer could give you a hard time if they choose to be that way.

My dealer actually tries to find ways to cover things under warranty rather than charge me. He gets paid either way - it's just good business.
