Sometimes if the tires are not wearing properly you will get a whining noise, might want to check your front tires to see what they are wearing like.

Sometimes I hear a whining noise coming from the front of the car when I'm on a date with a chick and the windows are down so I can hear the exhaust note... but I'm pretty sure the whine I'm talking about is coming from the passengers seat area.

I've noticed that whining sound and it correlates with rpms.
It's my gearbox and read other ppl with same sound from gearbox.
Mine hasn't gotten any worse, so I'm not worried. If it becomes a problem or worse, I have my warranty.

Yeah...lol...it does sound like a mild oem SC...lol

It sounds more like a power steering pump issue.

Not discounting your thought, but wouldn't a power steering pump wine at all rpm's? Like even at idle and wine sound change when you turn your wheels?
Of course rpm change as well.
OP said his whine starts around 2500rpm and up. Thats where mine starts to whine and its my tranny

hmm....sure. It was just a throw in, as my wifes car had a similar thing happen and it turned out to be the power steering pump issue.

What kind of whine is it, OP? High pitched, low pitched, and vibration with it? Does it get louder as the RPM's raise, or does it go away? I've seen balancer harmonics/crank issues do the same as well. Could also be a differential issue, bearings, trans, etc.
