Amsoil Vs. Mobil 1

I just went and changed my oil to Mobil 1 which I've heard good things about. I've also heard good things about Amsoil. Well I couldn't find any Amsoil until today, I found out that it is $2.65/qt compared to the $4/qt that I paid for mobil 1. Isn't Amsoil better and if so why so much cheaper. I'm sure it's very subjective but if I can save $1.35/qt next time I will go with Amsoil. What does everyone else think? Is this price difference the same where you are from? I'm just curious.

don't know how you found amsoil at $2.65/qt. it's mot sold in stores but through reps or direct from amsoil and its close to $6/qt after shipping, etc.

Okay, yes it is sold in stores...and to be precise I found it at Temecula speed center in CA. They didn't have 5w-30 but the guy said it is the same price as what he was carrying on the shelf. He said he could order some for me and it would take a day to ship. He also carried Redline, which was like $8.50/qt. I guess from what you're saying, I should buy it from this guy. I will look more into it and make sure the details are correct.

Re: Amsoil Vs. Mobil 1

Amsoil makes several different oils, only 2 of which are full synthetics. Make sure you're getting the good stuff, or you're better off with Mobil 1.

Re: Amsoil Vs. Mobil 1

I was really thinking about using amsoil in the car and did some reasearch. My friend sells their products and told me "it's not all that". He prefers Royal Purple over amsoil.

I did buy some amsoil for my bike. Coming from castro synthetic base to real synthetic was like night and day. My bike is a lot smoother.

In the G I just used mobile1. It works and protects so I'm fine with it.
