6th Wire on Grounding Kit

Can someone get me some specific instructions on this. Sorry not to put this on the huge thread, but I fear that this would not get answered. I bought the kit from z-xtreme and wires 1-5 were clear, but 6th was a little vague since pics on the other thread made it unclear as to where it goes.

Also, I busted those tabs that are used to hold the wheel liner. I would appreciate some direction to get some more.

btw, after installing 1-5, I noticed a big difference. Definately smoother. HP gains...might be psyc, but I do notice some.

TIA.

I believe I can help with the tabs. Nissan calls them "Clips" and they're available from your local friendly Nissan/Infiniti dealer. The part number is 01553-09321. The picture is larger than the actual size.

Sorry I can't help with the z-xtreme kit's 6th wire. I have GordGee's 7-wire Ground Gear kit and the connection points may be different.

Re: 6th Wire on Grounding Kit

I'm not positive, but I believe that Z-Xtreme runs the 6th wire from the right rear of the intake plenum to the bolt holding the factory ground on the right strut tower. E-mail him to make sure. Hope that helps.

Re: 6th Wire on Grounding Kit

After some major research, I think your right. I noticed that some ppl were running the sixth wire from the front of the plenum where 1,3 and 4 are connected. Is there a reason why ppl are doing that instead of the back of the plenum?

Re: 6th Wire on Grounding Kit

GroundingGear™ runs it from the front of the engine plenum. I believe that the front cluster is a more important point for signal information (at least in theory) based on empirical data and consultation with Electrical Engineers. The difference may be marginal, but everything GroundingGear™ does is based on theoretically maximizing the signal, from materials used, construction technique, to grounding points and configuration. After all, isn't this what it's about anyway?

Re: 6th Wire on Grounding Kit

I used that same grounding kit on my 6MT a week ago, I just ran it from the front of the plenum and it works just as well

Re: 6th Wire on Grounding Kit

Z-Extreme's 6th wire goes from the same Plenum bolt as wire 5, under the intake tube to a 10mm bolt that has a flat ground wire on the inside of the whell well. You can see it well if you remove the intake tube.

Re: 6th Wire on Grounding Kit

I must correct my last post, I ran it wrong myself. Check out this thread for a pic of the 2 grounding locations on wire six.
