Since there is so much talk about gas mileage with the G35, I thought it would be interesting to compare all the Nissan models with the VQ engine. The color bars show relative position in the model lineup. (In some cases, I've averaged GVWs for typical options). And remember, YMMV!!!!

It may have something to do with the final drive ratio. Also, the EPA ratings can be a mystery sometimes!

Question.

The weight for the G35 6-speed Sedan is close to the Infiniti spec curb weight. The weight for the G35 AT Sedan is much higher than the published curb weight. Could it be the actual weight with a full tank of gas and maybe a driver?

How do the manufacturers determine the spec curb weight anyway? Full tank? Half tank? With or without driver? Do all manufacturers do it the same way?

BTW, do you happen to know what the AT sedan weighs and how did you determine it?

I'm not sure what you mean. The curb weights used in the table are directly from official Nissan/Infiniti sources. What other info do you have?!
