Plenum question

im on everythingG35.com and am looking to get a plenum spacer 1/2"
they have 3 different choices

1/2" Copper ISO Thermal Plenum Spacer
1/2" ISO Thermal Plenum Spacer
1/2" Plenum Spacer

they say to use the copper one if it snows in your area....i doesnt snow here i drive to snowy areas at times

Whats the thermal mean does it only induct cold air?

would really appreicate some input

5/16" iso FTW! The iso helps to allow less heat transfer to the intake manifold and lower plenum.

although the 1/2" produces a slightly higher hp peak, the 5/16" has better performance over the useable power band range.

The Iso Thermal is good for another 1-2 HP on top of what the spacer does.
And yes, if you regularly drive in or to snowy areas, I do recommend the Copper version.

The copper heats only the throttle body and allows the rest of your plenum to run much cooler. A cooler running plenum allows for cooler/denser intake air charges for your engine. It also helps reduce the tendancy for ping.

More importantly, you don't have to switch anything on or off like you would have to do with the Coolant Control Valve. Its all automatic. Set and forget.

Tony

PS - Do you have a REVUP or non REVUP engine? Manual or auto?
