will the mrev 2 provide similar type gains in HP and TQ on an 03 04? I'm trying to decide if plenum or mrev2 because motordyne says dont do both for the non revup

 

My understanding is that if you have an 03 04 you already have a lower collector that the MREV is a copy of. Its the rev up that doesn't have that same lower collector as you have.

 

No, just get the spacer, the MREV2 is a non revup OEM plower plenum with machining done to the runners. On a non-revup, the gains of the mrev2 are similar to the 5/16 spacer. Having both the mrev2 and spacer would cause non revups to run lean wout tune. So the spacer is the obvious choice for nonrevups as the spacer is cheaper than the mrev2. The mrev2 and 5/16 spacer combo is marketed for revups.

 

i've seen a 5/16 (.3)spacer and this forum says that it has more usable power while the 1/2 (.5)spacer has less low end power (usable power) but higher top end power. I've seen a 3/4 (.7) spacer anyone know anything about this?

I tried a 3/4" spacer several years ago and it didn't perform as well as the 5/16" or 1/2".

It made less power.

alright thanks for all the info i just got the 5/16th plenum from jason M. at riverside infiniti, quick question, is it worth my time to do a ecu reflash? like unplug my battery for a couple hours and then plug it back up? or will my car relearn as i drive?

 

Do it.

It doesn't always make a difference, but when it does make a difference, it always helps. So there is no loss in trying.

 

Your car has to relearn as you drive regardless. And... you're talking about resetting your ECU. An ECU reflash is remapping your ECU, basically getting your car tuned. If you have modded your car enough to increase the flow of air therefore changing the fuel curve, although it isn't necessary, a reflash can be good for fuel economy, and can still net some more gains along with better response.

 

I was wondering if you could use the Cosworth Plenum in conjunction with the MD MREV lower plenum....Does anyone know? Talk about HP gains, the better you breathe the better you work......Same goes for your Car!!!

mrev is just the lower half of the plenum. the cosworth is a complete upper and lower unit
