throttle body

throttle body

how many people on here have had to replace there throttle bodys? i was just wondering if it is a common thing.

i didn't have to replace mine...i just had to clean it at around 30-35k...

Replaced under warranty at less than 5k miles along with a camshaft sensor

when it went bad did the slip vdc and check engine light come on. i think my throttle body is bad but it might be my ecu.

It's probably your throttle body sensor that went out. That is what happened to me...you can bring in to autozone and they will scan it. I also had my ECU go out, but that was caused different it was supplying power to various devices even when my car was turned off. I also had the rear active steering relay short out on me.

My car would also go into safe mode everytime I turned it off and on again. I had to clear the ECU everytime before I turned my car on.

That looked real ghetto let me tell you....

Just had mine replaced this week @ 45k miles. Code thrown was TPS, Throttle Position Sensor. Warranty NP, altho it took 2 tries to get the throttle program to take in the ECU. Found a great dealer in NJ - Douglas. Mods are no prob. I have a K&N Typhoon and Kinetix plenum and all they said was they might not get the idle right on spec with the mods, but they did. Works for me!

yeah i found out today my warranty expired in jan. so now i have to buy a throttle body. i heard the ones off of the m45 match up perfect. i dont know if thats true cause i havent done any research on it but if any1 knows where i can get a throttle body for a good price please let me know.

Mine was replaced at about 11K after the car refused to shift out of "Park". According to the service slip they replaced it with a different part number and the reason was "a high incidence of failure" or something like that.
