Kinetix SSV install

I am in the process of picking one up from a former Z owner. What am I going to need to install it (gasket/hoses/whatever)? After the install I heard/read I will have to have the car tuned. Any information will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. Also, if anyone with a Vortech kit has one of these on thier car and hates/loves it, I would like to know that info as well.

Honestly bro, it's a waste of money. If you search here and on my350z.com, you will find many threads on the SSV. If you haven't purchased it yet, do yourself a favor and use the money you would have used on this on a Motordyne spacer/plenum.

Yeah it looks real pretty under the hood if you don't mind losing power.

Even FI gains are questionable, and there are plenty of better options out there

+1 on not wasting your money, but i dont see the point of spending almost 900 dollars to be slower, just get a better plenum and spacer.

Even for FI, Motordyne plenums/spacers are superior to the SSV.

sorry man . . . SSV is poor quality . . . had it and replaced it . . . absolutely looks nice though . . . wish the performance matched the price and looks . . . unfortunately after dyno'ing before and after . . . i only saw 2-3 at the wheels . . . the surface was warped . . . it wasnt flat which is why they use cork as the gasket . . . other problems as well . . . ordered straight from kinetix . . . they only sent the manifold . . . i had to go to home depot to purchase the allen screws necessary for install . . . i had to go to pep boys to buy the hoses necessary for install . . . it was a headache and a half . . . BS if you ask me . . . never again will i buy based on looks and hope . . . hope this helps anyone inquiring about kinetix . . . if they were more helpful and the service was better maybe this would be a different reply . . . dont waste your money . . .

^^^Exactly. Unless you are getting it strictly for looks, the SSV functionally is just a POS. Motordyne pwns SSV.

its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be...if it was then you wouldn't see it on so many cars. there really isn't any plenum upgrade where you will actually feel a difference. why not get one that looks nice? i will admit that the price is high but if you score one used then you are good

Thats funny, the majority of motordyne, crawford, and even kinetix v+ owners would disagree with this statement.
You see it on so many cars because they think it "looks" good. I have yet to see any definative proof that it makes gains on any NA cars, or even on FI cars. People do alot of things that don't add HP, doesn't make it a wise choice by any means.

Most every car that I've seen this on either planned on showing or already does show the car. O.o
