Is the G is too Cheap?

OK this was exactly my fear. I was so excited about the value and class of this car. I thought that the price would knock a most of the kids doing all kind of disgusting things to their Civics and Neons out of this vehicle. I haven't seen too many Gs on the road in San Diego, but seeing all of the posts and the things that people are doing, or say they are doing to a perfectly AWSOME looking car makes me mad. Its insulting to the design people at Infiniti. I thought this was supposed to be a classy sports car. I'm not an old fart I'm only 28, and think that all of you idiots that do this should stop. Mods are cool, mods that you can't see are even cooler. ie chips, twin turbo (if it comes)... I'm all for originality but an F1 looking spoiler and stickers don't belong on the G. Take a look at what the real professional race car drivers drive on the street. Its not going to be lowered, its not going to have kits, stickers... Maybe some nice wheels and tint. That is usually it. If you don't like how the car looks buy a different car. No matter what you do to a Civic its still a Civic. No matter what you do to the G it will still be a G. So leave the design to the pros. Or go get a degree, pay your dues and get a job and go design for an auto manufacturer. I truly hope that all of these pics are photoshop dreamers living @ home with their moms. WAR HOME OWNERS!!!

No fear dude no fear, Once you get to know us on these forums you'll see that a lot is done to our G's, but 'ricing' (no disrespect) from what I've seen is an absolute no-no. Can I direct you to our RIDES section to the left. I'm sure you'll like what you see there. Enjoy

Re: Is the G is too Cheap?

Dude, what a freak. You know USA is a country with

freedom. You do whatever you want if you can afford and

responsible for it. However, pros were once amateur and pro

does not mean they are better or superior. So you think an

amateur like me or others have no right to mods a car? What

do you think you can do all [censored] like turbo and stuff, but aero

kit? Of course that looks cool, that isn't all about aero kit.

Look at the name, dude. it is for good "co drag" and "down

force". You live your life and I ain't care what you do to your

car or when I look at your car, that is yours, so I ain't say

nothing because you got right to do. So don't disrespect

people here because they just put a GT wing to their G.

Also I saw a lot of amateur or pro racers dressed up their cars

whether they have Honda or Benz.

Re: Is the G is too Cheap?

don't worry, i'm only 21 so I plan to keep it simple- a triple decker spoiler and, of course, stickers on the side of the doors saying 'POWERED BY HONDA'

it's funny, becasue I've seen, since beginning of 2002, about 4 G sedans and 2 G coupes (1 of htem mine), and 2 350Zs up here in Calgary......supposedly in the US they're more common than up here in canada

Re: Is the G is too Cheap?

I think everyone is allowed their own opinion....I personally would not like to see a riced up G but then it's not my car. I think that rims, tint and performance mods are great and makes the car really stand out. I agree that a huge spoiler would make the car look silly but then again look at the cars used in the domestic japan sports car races....basically super riced up supra's, nsx's, silvia's.....

Re: Is the G is too Cheap?

It's certainly a free country and people can mod their cars as they like (subject to certain regulations), but people are also free to disrespect the people who do so.

Look, the reality is that the majority of cars sell for their image. Hence the gigantic sales of off-road vehicles in the nation with the most and best-paved roadways in the world. Take a look at your G35 Coupe brochure. The first 4-5 pages contain more pictures of hot women than of the car. One picture is just a woman standing in front of a bed with a tissue-thin neglige' barely clinging to her body. I checked all over my G when it was delivered, including in the little spare tire hatch, but there were no scantily-clad women hiding in there. That's an image they're selling. So when Gforce puts down $35k for that image, and you go and screw up that image, he starts feeling cheated.

Let's use a different example: let's say you drop $3000 on a green pin-striped Armani suit. Chicks, you know, like nice suits. But the very first day you put it on, NBC broadcasts that Michael Jackson interview, and in it he's fondling small boys while wearing a green pin-striped Armani suit. This was probably not the image you were going for. Attract women, yes. Attack small boys, no. The value of that suit is thus greatly decreased, even though it's completely legal for Michael to wear that suit how he likes. You feel kind of gross wearing it yourself now, however.

So the way you need to think of it is, every time you put a junky spoiler on a nice car, Michael Jackson fondles another innocent little boy. Yes, it's your fault. Also, you are greatly compromising GForce's ability to get that chick in the brochure into his car if she sees your car first. She'll flag down the first BMW, and instead there will be a person of uncertain gender in a $6 tube top and a vinyl mini-skirt in his car (unless, again, she sees yours first).

Okay, the above is a bit uncalled for, but let's be fair: you yourself said you wanted to distinguish yourself from his car by adding the wing. In return, he would like to further distinguish your car from his by removing the G35-shaped thing under your wing. But he can't force you to, so all he can do is complain, whereas you can supposedly screw up his car's appeal with impunity. So let the guy vent. Though personally, I think he's overreacting. It's going to be at least 3-4 years before there's a large enough used G35 market and enough of them on the road to encourage this sort of "originality." It ain't gonna turn into the equivalent of a Civic any time soon.

What a great thread. That's why I like to speak my mind, which has a tendency to rock the boat. I love the G to death but I'll be off to Zuffenhausen, Germany to go get the good stuff in a few years. WAR ADULT LITTERACY PROGRAMS!!! (I know most of you don't get the last line but who cares)

your right, I don't get the last line. I noticed your first post says "WAR HOME OWNERS" and now "WAR ADULT LITTERACY PROGRAMS".

Are you the anti-christ or something? Your trying to start negative threads and war among us?
