Every 3-4K, Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. Dont care if the oil can last longer, I feel safer doing it that often.

Why so often though? I used to change the oil on my 3 series about every 15K.

Not on my 3 series......High-revving inline-6's, if you drive them like they're meant to be driven, will wear down oil pretty fast. Granted, mine takes almost 7 quarts of oil on a 2.5L engine, but it should still get changed more often.

Look in your owners manual to determine which oil/filter change schedule you fit into. There's Schedule 1 and Schedule 2. Schedule 1 is for cars that routinely drive short distances in hot weather (5 miles or less) or cold weather (10 miles or less), drive in dusty area, tow, or have cargo carrier. The change interval is 3,750 miles. Schedule 2 is for cars that do a lot of highway driving and not a whole lot of true city stop/go. The change interval is 7,500 miles. I put on about 10K miles a year and do about 50/50 city/highway driving. I don't live in a dusty area nor do I tow or have a cargo carrier. I do get on my car from time to time therefore I change my oil and filter about every 5K to 6K miles with some sort of synthetic oil. This is the same schedule I've used for my old VQ30 and that thing ran like a top till the day I sold it with 117K miles.

Every 3,750 miles: Napa Gold oil filter and 5 quarts of Valvoline 5-30 conventional. The Fumoto drain plug valve also makes it a snap.

Regarding BMW, they have longer intervals because: a) they use fully synthetic oil which doesn't break down as fast; b) they use 7 quarts, the more particles can be held in the oil; and c) they use a larger filter. These 3 factors enable longer intervals.

I have 4 autozones in my area and only 1 of them carried it. When I asked for it, they told me they didn't carry it. After debating back and forth as to whether they carried it, I said alright let's check the computer. Sure enough they did carry it. Your best bet is to go to your closest autozone. If they don't have it, have them search the computer and see what stores do have it in stock. This will prevent you from having to go to each store and check.

Autozone does carry this oil though, regardless of what their lazy staff will tell ya.
