Help me with my Buying List - PLEASE :) - going built and FI :)

KK Hello all, first although i dont post often, I love my G and I love G35driver, it was a year ago or so on youtube I saw a g35driver sticker on someones car in a vid that made me find this site and I have never looked back So I am well read and I use the search button but I was hoping you guys could help me with a vendor and part list for me - My goal is to do some shows with it

Kk So right now I have a 03 fully loaded G35 with now 40k miles on it (15k of those in the last year ) its a manual also, I have JWT clutch and fly - 18' wedsports sa70's and a plenum spacer - so small mods :P

I want to actually build so I can safely put about 500+ hp to the ground, at max of course :P - I will do the 3 stage control combo, daily, track, drag :P - Also I want this a close to smog legal I can get !! Ya hard huh but of course thats optional to a degree. I am looking to spend about 10k -12k - Labor I have covered, with exception of tuning.

I cannot decide whether to go SC or TT -- I am thinking I will go SC just for reliability and not having to worry about constantly tuning the TT's (but if you think i should go TT go ahead and tell me why so I consider this too maybe more then i have )

So I need a good reference for a shop preferably in California that does built engines (I dont need the whole shop) but just enough to safley run this type of power, Everything on my car currently works so nothing i dont need to replace i dont have too :P - Also I obviously want to do this quality so its safe but as cheaply as possible.

So i am asking the very knowledgeable people of this forum to give me a parts list and vendor list of everything I will need,

Thanks all for those that help me out I hope You guys help me create a Sema worthy build !!

(PS) I am working a second full time job to sponsor this lol

Well my friend has a 350z all stock with greddy TT and he put down 408 on the dyno, and he has been running that for about a year now very safely, I dont know why if I build a little i couldnt put down about 500... Am i missing something ?

And in this mag I have a gent there is throwing about 400 down with no probs with an APS tt set up on completely stock internals in his 04 G35

The labor and the parts cost of the built motor. If you do the work yourself, your budget is reasonable. If you have shops do all the work, your budget's a little low.

Alright, if you buy smart, it should be doable at or close to your budget. I wouldn't be the best person to give you specific parts advice, though. Hope to go SC myself, someday, just because Vortech is the only kit that's CARB legal.

GAME ON!!!

I was wondering about this too, is there a way to build the engine just for boost or is an entire engine build necessary?

I think this could be done if you are doing most of the labor yourself and get the Greddy TT kit shipped with IC for 5550 from the marketplace. I will definately keep my eye on this post to see what some people say.

The biggest thing for a built FI motor is better connecting rods and lower compression pistons, head studs.

There are other small things but those 3 are the majors.

Get a built short block and twin turbo setup. If labor is no problem(as in my case also)try importpartspros.com,at least i think that is the site and get a stage 1 or 2 short block.Throw on a set of the greddy twins and get a good tune and you will easily hit 500 rwhp and safely.
Di tch the idea of a s/c for 500 rwhp cause it will take a lot of time and money and you still probably not get there.

hey bro. I'm interested in more info on what you suggested. Do you have the link for the venter/shop you recommended. I tried connecting to the one you posted a number of different ways and I still couldn't get it to work.
