I'm going to move this to the engine section, you will get more help over there.

That code is seen when there is low oil levels usually...

check your oil levels, start there...

I have that code right now, however my oil level was on point. I changed my oil, reset the code and it popped back on shortly after. My local dealership says that the sensor may be faulty, and it is covered by my warrantee, however I have to pay them to do an engine flush first before they will warrantee that part. I ran this by Infiniti NA Consumer Affairs and they said that this is completely correct. Anyone else have any ideas on this ?

intake cam sensor? if it's under warranty, I wouldn't think twice about letting Infiniti take care of it. What is an "engine flush"? Coolant flush? Not sure why those two are related. Something like gumout to clean out the valves? If you've been using synthetic oils, I didn't think such flushes were necessary or even recommended.

I have been using synthetic oil since Day 1, every 3500 miles, religiously. Engine flush as in gumout, yes, and they say that unless they perform that engine flush first and see if that removes the CES, and only if the CES stays on after that can they warranty that part. THAT is what has me thinking twice about it. Interestingly enough this check engine light has been on now for almost 3 weeks, and I feel no difference in my cars performance.

I guess that's a valid concern on Infiniti. BUT I also think if they just looked at the valvetrain or even the part to see if the engine is clean or not would be sufficent.

Is that sensor accessible w/o taking the covers off?

I dont have an engine cover on to begin with. And it is clearly accessible on the front of the engine timing cover, right near the MAF its a black sensor. They say that when they took it out there was sludge behind the valve cover? Possible?

Could be possible. You could remove it yourself and shine a light in the hole to verify

So you mean to let them do a full engine flush on my car, at 92,000 miles, when my warranty runs out at 93,000 miles. Then at 93,005 miles I come back with bad compression on my motor because their engine flush has taken out all of the deposits that have actually held compression, and they don't warranty my motor because well they're the dealership.

See why I'm stressing this out. I, in fact, DONT want to make matters worse for me.
