30k Tuneup

I finally hit 30k. Dealer wants $400, but that includes trany fluid changeout (auto). Not sure what else they do (Miller Infiniti, Van Nuys). Need oil change, tire rotation & cabin filter. Anyone know what else I will get for my $?
Also, is it really required or should I just go with a less expensive tuneup like the 15k? I'm not equipped to change tranny fluid myself.

$400 isnt that bad, probably can get it done alittle cheaper at a Nissan dealership. Three things I would suggest is get the trans fluid at least drained/refilled, a flush is optional, differential fluid change, coolant flush depending on its condition.

i would find out if that includes a full tranny flush or just a drain and refill of the pan. the pan only holds like 3-4 quarts. a full flush is about 12 quarts. btw, last time i bought j-matic tranny fluid it was $6.95 per quart and that was a dealer hookup.

I'm more of a noob than you, but do a search. I did the same because I'm in the same boat (did it today actually) and there is TONS of info.

Essentially, if you're inclined to do so, do most everything yourself, or else go to Nissan and get the same service for a good $100-200 less than Infiniti.

The service schedule doesn't require tranny fluid change at 30K.

You can do all of that yourself if you have a jack, jack stands, and a few tools. If not, buy them and you'll save money.

You can get the cabin filter at the auto parts store for about $12 and you can change it yourself in about 10 minutes.

You may consider changing the differential oil yourself at 30k. It's easy. Get two quarts/liters of 75w-90 or 80w-90.

Correct. Thanks for pointing that out. Too many people fail to read the official maintenance schedules, and just blindly go with the dealer "30k" etc packages.

Check this one too. Is it required in the maintenance schedule?!

Changing the differential fluid isn't required, but it's easy and cheap and a lot of gunk comes out of there. Be sure to clean off all of the metal particles stuck to the magnetic drain plug.

Follow up:
Took car to the Nissan dealer next door to my work instead of Infiniti. They quoted me $329 plus extra for special tranny fluid (J?).
After 2 phone calls I was up to $938!
Front rotors gone (on my third pair) plus new pads (aftermarket, of course).
Belts cracked, needed replacement.
They tried to get a wheel alignment out of me but refused.

I will never buy a vehicle that goes thru brakes & rotors as this year/model does EVER. Of course this is the first time I had to pay for brakes due to the extended warranty Infiniti provided for this year, but this is redicules.
I did manage to get the ECU reset when the consult was hooked up. Runs like a new car. The reset is a must & highly recommended.
Just wondering how much my Infiniti dealer would had charged me.

Ive got a 05g35x and got a question about changing the differential oil. How often are we suppose to change the differential oil? It doesn't say in our service and mainenance guide. I want to know at what interval we are suppose to change the differential oil. Im not sure but does the X have two differentials front and rear? My infiniti dealer is charging $135 plus tax, does the price seem to high? Does infiniti use syntheic differential oil? thanks..
