Car wont start... ug
So i find this amazing lookout point in santa barbara and i decide to take my gf there. I take care of business only to have the car not start... I dont think its the battery because the lights turn on but they kinda flicker... the windows had trouble rolling up and down, but they got the job done... when i turn the key i just keep hearing a clicky sound which i assume is the starter? I have no idea whats wrong... and my car is stuck on the top of a mountain pretty much... anyone have any input?
***Well after leaving my car there for 2 days i finally got back and get my gf to give me a jump. It turned on just find and its been good ever since.
That day I had been driving my car HARD through the canyons and im gonna guess that it either tripped the computer out or my car just needed to cool off. I still needed to get a jump though but after waiting those 2 days it actually worked...
If any of you g-riders can figure out a better explanation please post, because im sure other people could benefit.

i had the same problem yesterday. Everything worked lights, windows, radio ,etc...but the car wouldnt start. i tried to jump start it with my father in laws corolla but it still didnt start. So i called AAA to get it towed. When AAA gets to me he tries to jump start it again and , guess what, it started. He said the size and power of the battery make a difference when jump starting a car. The AAA truck uses 2 batteries to jump start vehicles.
My 04's battery need to be replaced last summer. On vacation, when I was sitting for about 20 minutes with the fan on (car off) calling around for a hotel room. When I returned, I replaced it.

optima yellow tops are great...a weak battery doesnt have the crank power to turn over the car...i keep a charged jumper in the trunk for issues like this before i got my optima. now it comes in handy if a friend's car needs to be jumped

Um... LOL. I think it's quite obvious it's your battery, if the lights are flickering and the window is having trouble rolling up and down. I mean unless you think your lights and window regulator motor is dying coincidentally at the same time your car won't start.

i have the same problem, but i have the yellow top battery and my car is an 04 and wont start either. i didnt try jump starting it yet cause i thought it was another problem. last november my car idal wried and took it to the dealer and that said it was my intake and maf senor. so they made me buy a new one. now its happening agian. any ideal, what could be worng with my car.
At the same time you guys scare me with these tiny problems on your NA cars, but it just sounds like a battery problem, i dont know but I'm going to go buy a new one now for the hell of it haha.
My optima yellow top has been doing the same thing lately, I didn't drive the car for 3 weeks and then came home to a dead battery. Jumped/charged it and ran for a few days, then dead after sitting for a few days. Now its sitting in the garage plugged in to a Deltran charger. Most battery issues are going to show up when the weather is colder. Before you replace your battery, take it into autozone/kragen..etc to have them load test it first to see if you really need to replace it.
