Well, I think I'm ready with the new GroundingGear™ Activated Carbon HEPA Filter for the G35. It features 69% more pleats than the stock Infiniti filter, Activated Carbon pre-filter to reduce odours and extend the life of the HEPA filter, and Install instructions.

About the same as the Infiniti filter discounted, so much less than as available from the dealer. I'll test the market out first at this reduced price for a while before I finally set a MSRP. PM me for details.

relpace filter every year or 12000 km = 15000 miles, which ever comes first. I just replaced mine last week.

Just changed mine with an Infiniti OEM Filter. @#$% thing cost me $64 from the Infiniti dealer. I will definitely take one of Gordgee's filters!!!

 

Grubbs sells the Infiniti filter for $29.99, plus you can get a 5% discount using the FA code.

I designed an add-on carbon filter element for the Infiniti filter (link here). It's just a little bit of work, maybe not as good as the one shown above.

How much does Grubb's charge for S&H? If it's more than $10, the GroundingGear™ HEPA Filter would be cheaper (what my proposed charge will be). Then you'd have to buy and fabricate your own carbon filter to fit underneath the OEM one.

Yes, I remember reading your thread a while back. Good job BTW! I was in development at the time and didn't want to let the cat out of the bag, so I didn't comment at the time. I wanted the Activated Carbon to be a pre-filter stage which should also make the HEPA stage last longer in theory as it filters out the larger particulates so the HEPA doesn't clog as quickly. It should also seal a bit better in the box. With the reinforcing, the GroundingGear™ HEPA Filter is identical in overall dimensions to the OEM and is considerably more 'robust'. I'm very pleased with the result. I haven't done any odour testing with it, but it seems to reduce outside odours. How has yours been in that respect?

I'm actually in limited production right now. I'm getting some flaky responses today from my supplier. They say that the HEPA media production design may change which is going to change the entire way that the filter will have to be made! My production will have to depend on this rather erratic supply situation until I find an alternative. I'll remain in limited supply for you guys until things are more settled. So continue to PM me if you're interested and I'll meet the demands on a week by week basis for now. I'd like to continue production on the present design since it's a lot more robust than that cheapy looking OEM Infiniti filter, not to mention the carbon stage. The OEM filters in Canada are running around $53 and come with no instructions. Maybe I should reconsider my pricing structure! ...Nah, I wouldn't do that to you guys![img]/w3timages/icons/laugh.gif[/img]
