Anyone know how to get more MPG??
Anyone know how to get more MPG??
This maybe a dumb question , but how the heck do I get my G to produce more MPG?? My mechanic said to do a complete air induction, that might get more MPG over time.. anyone know of any other way.. gas prices are killin me!
Get tuned, lose some weight, and I'm sure mods like solid motor mounts, lightweight flywheel etc... to reduce power loss through the drivetrain wouldn't hurt either. Changing your driving habits can help a lot too.

Don't exceed 60 mph since the vehicle was optimized to pass EPA MPG Test which didn't exceed 61 mph.
Not much you can do economically that won't exceed the cost benefit analysis over 5 years...............saving 100 gallons per year or $2,000 will surely cost more than $2,000 in modifications.
Changing differential gear to lower rpm at 60 mph is probably the most cost effective.................especially over replacing engine with a smaller displacement one.
Engine displacement is usually more important than weight and you purchased a GIANT 3.5 compared to the average 2.0 liter world wide.
A 3.5 will consume 3.5/2= 50>75% more idling alone.

The best increase you will see is keeping your foot off the gas and keeping the revs down.

Yes you are right. All engines have a range where they are the most efficient. My comment was more general. From what I have seen with my G lower is better for the most part.
I just changed out my 3.5vlsd rear end for a 3.3vlsd and have noticed some good mpg gains. I did it for performance and mpg but this is only a good performance idea on high HP boosted cars.

I saw your setup..its pretty impressive. What is your mpg now with boost?
ur right foot and maintaining constant speed will improve ur gas mileage. But if u really think gas prices are hurting ur budget then u should not drive a G at all.
My suggestion would be a late 90s geo metro. They are very cheap which u like and they have 3 cylinders with very good gas mileage.
