technosquare???

I spent some time looking at previous searches about the Technosquare ECM reprogram and just want to know how many people have tried it and what kind of results you have gotten. Do you send them your ECM or do you trade yours out or how does it work? Is TS the best both in terms of price and performance? Thanks

Re: technosquare???

I have not yet had mine done, but TechnoSquare requires that
you remove the ECU and send it to them, They reprogram it
and send it back. You can Fed-EX overnight and get it back
in 3 days turnaround. I hear it does wonders for the 5AT
sedan, not so much for the 6MT.

Re: technosquare???

im taking in my 6MT sedan next week to have it retuned now that i have an exhaust. theoretically, we should be showing gains. in stock form, however, we showed nothing. i do like the increased redline and better throttle control though. very nice. it'll really show when i get my flywheel.

Re: technosquare???

If you have had your car on a dyno...you would see the A/F ratio is lean at lower rpm's .I had mine flashed and redynoed.and it came out about 12.5to 1 across the rpm range .They also raise the rev limiter to 7,100 rpm and get rid of the speed limiter. They also set the throttle body to open up all the way at WOT.If you plan on making mods to your car...do them first and then have them flash the ECU to your mods...You will get the most out of it that way

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

Re: technosquare???

What type of gains should I get w/TS if I already have the Z-tube PopCharger/Borla TDE. I might be doing the UR too but I'm scared about the warranty issue.

Re: technosquare???

well, after we dyno my car next week with my TDE, we will see what kind of gains i get. i also have popcharger/ztube, which probably dont do anything but sound.
UR is definitely good to do. if anything were to happen, change back to stock and take it to the dealer. simple as that.

Re: technosquare???

But what's this mess I hear about the TS not doing much more for the 6MT than increasing the rev limiter and eliminating the speed gov.? 155 is plenty fast for me and I'm not gonna pay that much for the rev limiter to be moved a little. Nuttyprof I'd love to see your dyno sheets. Aren't they working on a new program? When is it due? If you get what they have out today and a new version comes out do you get a discount on the update? Free updates for a year or 2? I wish. I think its kind of a good idea to wait on the chips since our cars are so new. My buddy has an M3 and he got his Dinan chip early on and later regreted it cause the davancements in one year were staggering. Don't know if this holds true for us but it might pay to be patient IMO.

Re: technosquare???

so far, with the stock 6MT sedan, the dynos showed no gains...that is correct. we are going to redyno with the much better flowing exhaust. it is expected that this will release the power of the 6MT. i dont think there will be new programs out. the new programs are for the 2004 model, which supposedly has a different program than the 03' model.

Re: technosquare???

I realize its from the vendor, but they were claiming about 10 - 12 whp throughout the rpm band and about 17 peak gain on a stock 6mt with thre ts ecu flash. I have no experience with it, but that is what they recently told me.

Re: technosquare???

That's 50% of why this forum exists. Cause we don't buy the load of crap that most Manuf. of aftermarket mods try to sell us.

Re: technosquare???

Ok! [YES//NO] question...
Is it worth buying this aftermarket ECU? With this price...

Re: technosquare???

Only reason I'd buy it is if I got really bad A/F readings showing I was running lean. With the data that I've seen, only thing I'm convinced of is that it's a $595 mod to but the kibosh on A/F ratio's. Beyond that the true WOT aspect a added benefit IMO.
