Ordered built motor

My 03 coupe has 90000k miles on it and it eats about 2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. So i did some research and compared prices. I went ahead and ordered from Importpartspro.com there custom stage 2 long block. Here is what includes.

Wiseco Pistons .020 over
Eagle/SCAT H Beam Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
Block inspected and cleaned
Block redecked
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Rotating assembly balanced
Crank magnafluxed and the journals micro-polished
New Moly coated Race Spec main bearings installed
New Moly coated Race Spec rod bearings installed
Block assembled
New OEM Head Gaskets
Heads inspected and cleaned
Heads redecked
Ported exhaust and intake runners
JWT S2 Cams
JWT Heavy Duty Valve Springs
5 angle radius cut valve job
New OEM Valve stem seals installed
Valve Stem Heights set
Cold Clearance set for stock cams
Heads assembled
New OEM Rev-up Oil Pump
ARP VQ35 Head and Main Stud Kit

I asked Kyle (owner and mechanic) to go ahead and fully assemble the motor and with all that, the total came out to be 6900 shipped. I plan on supercharging the car so I went ahead and kept the stock compression. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Kyle is a little backed up so he won't start on motor for another week or two. I would appreciate any other suggestions so I can think and tell kyle to change things if needed. Thanks everyone!

Wow, that's quite a bit of oil consumption, sorry to hear that. Looks like a nice setup and I'm excited to see what it puts down. Good luck

Possibly the only change I would consider would be the Head Gaskets
and ARP L-19 head studs. That is only if you are planning on Supercharging
like you said, and then if you want to wind up the boost, you will have a
margin of safety. Easier to pay for it now, rather than later. Not saying
a must do, but it needs consideration. You will see them in his options
list.

I assume the long block is the entire motor (heads, oil pans, etc??)

was that $6900 with the $1500 core charge?
do they use in a new timing chain? how much was shipping?

they do have great prices on built motors, so thats prolly the direction i'll go this fall.

I spoke to Kyle and he says the L-19s are over kill. He says it will be comforting to know but the regular ARP main and head studs are good enough... especailly if I'm only shooting for 500WHP tops.

I believe he says the timing chains are used but inspected and the shipping was 390 with the truck having a lift. Without the lift, 320 I think.

Prices are good, considering everyone else I called wanted like 7500+...

I think i would drop the compression so if in the future you do want to get to 500rwhp you can turn up the boost safely.

500whp is my goal, and many people have it done on a daily. It's never too much

thats not bad at all. All you'll have to do is put back on the accessories, manifolds and plenum right?

good luck. I'd definately run that bugger 500 hp on pump gas!

str8dum1, you think I will be able to run 450whp on a built motor? or is that still too much even with the motor build?
