Problem: UR Crank Pulley Eats Belts

So i had the install of the Unorthodox Crank pulley yesterday and all the belts seem tight and it spins true ...but for some reason the belt closest to the block is fraying and was evident within 10 miles. The belts are the Goodyear gatorbacks and they are not the UR reccommended brand so I think I'll order the reccomended ones and hope for the best.

Anyone use the goodyear belts on the UR crank pulley?

PS the low end seems better - hard to tell so far.

Re: Problem: UR Crank Pulley Eats Belts

Conecelli Nissan - $190 - there was an issue with a quote I rec'd of 80 bucks.

I wanted it more than I had the patience to deal with taking it somewhere else and them not being a nissan or infinit dealer so after negotiating down from 290 to 180 i was ok with it since they got it in without any notice and they have done them before. I am leery about crank issues from a bad installer. There is little recourse if they screw up and your warranty sure wont help at that point. If I wasn't racing Sunday I would have flipped on them.

Essentially they want 3 hours per the book and that includes the radiator removal (1 hr). The guy hammered me on the phone about it being 3 hours for a reason so they wont *** it up and then when i showed up early walked right into the service bay and asked the guy - guess what - no radiator removal was required and it did take them 1.5 hours so I was ok with 190 including a $4 bolt.

Sorry so long

I have no doubts i could do it in 4 hours then! But at least if it breaks I'll be able to sleep at night knowing it wasn' t me who destroyed a 6k motor.

Re: Problem: UR Crank Pulley Eats Belts

I live in philly and this place is down the hill from my house. I could do it myself or have gotten my mechanic who has done many other things to the G but this install I wanted to be flawless and Nissan does them more than INfiniti for sure. I have had 2 pulleys go bad on me from the factory so I would kill myself if the motor blew after I did the install or my bud at BP auto and it flew apart. Paranoid about this mod perhaps? Maybe
