Help: my 03 coupe is knocking

Help: my 03 coupe is knocking

ok im starting to get worryed now. i bought my 03coupe a few months ago and since i got it after i run the car pretty hard (4000 to 6000rpm) it makes a knocking sound and its allways done that but its starting to get louder. what could the problem be or is that what just what the car dose after it being run hard?

lower octane fuel perhaps? mine knocked when i put 87 once. never doing that again

all i have every put it 91octane to chicken to put anything lower. would there be something wrong with the eginge?

it dosen't sound like its detonation. it knocks a about 2 to 4 times a second

just when it is idling it cant hear it when im driving

probably isnt octane then...is it only after driving hard, or is it all of the time

it only happens when i drive it over 4000rpm if i keep it under that it dosn't happen

If you can hear it while idling, use a hose or mechanics stethoscope to try and try to isolate where its coming from.

definitely sounds like your best plan of action, once you know where its coming from you can give us more info, or even expedite the process of getting it fixed.
