iso thermal bypass valve?

I'm about to install my iso thermal spacer from Motordyne and I was just curious about the bypass vavle. How does it work? What does turning it to the off position do?

There should have been instructions that came with the spacer. It explains what the bypass valve does.

I know, it says to turn off in certain temperatures and on in others. It doesnt say its purpose. I plan on using it but I just want to know what it does.

Thus, keeping the intake plenum cool, which in turn makes a lil' bit of HP.

When it gets cold you'll need to turn it on again so your throttle body doesn't freeze.
