Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning & Throttle Valve Closed Position???

My car's idle is completely messed up after cleaning the TB. I tried to reset the ECU using the procedure on Motordyne's site, as well as unplugging the battery for 12+ hrs, but the CEL came back (P0507 - idle too high).

Anyhow, I brought the car to the dealership and told them to do the Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning, Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning & IACV relearn, but they charged me $115.00 to diagnose and tell me that I need a new throttle body. I am convinced that they didn't do any of the above relearns.

Has anyone done the Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning & Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning successfully? I simply cannot get it to work!

Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning
Operation Procedure
1. Make sure that the accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.

I just do not see how the above process can possibly work? It doesn't trip off any MIL to indicate that the car is in any diagnostic mode. Also when the FSM refers to "OFF", does that merely mean that the key should be to position 0, but key still in ignition? I want to be absolutely sure of what I am doing here so that I can get it to work. Any tips?

Thanks

There are actually three separate procedures. The accelerator pedal release position learning, the throttle valve closed position learning and after both of these have been performed (using a watch to monitor the times is recommended in the service manual) the idel air volume learn procedure must be performed. It sounds like you might not be doing the whole thing. The procedure you listed is only the first of three procedures you need to perform. The manual does say that it it impossible to switch to the diagnostic mode if the accelerator pedal position circuit is damaged.

I should have mentioned that I did all 3 procedures in the correct order, after resetting the ECU.

After trying and timing it numerous times, I was able to get it to work.
