Help! Pulstar spark plug problem

About a week and a half ago I installed pulstar plugs on my 03 sedan AT. I am not a big tuner, but I have a few mods (stillen intake, kinetix ssv intake manifold, stillen ground wires) mostly to increase engine efficiency. On the first crank after I installed the pulstar plugs my engine was badly misfiring. I put the old plugs back in and that did not change anything. I took it to a retired mechanic that i know and he found that two cylinders are misfiring. He also found that the cylinders keep compression when pressurized (he had this air compressor attachment thing) so its not any sort of o ring or gasket prob. The injectors are receiving current, as are the coils. He could not figure out the root of the problem. So I took it to the dealer, they said that the computer said the #4and 6 cylinders are misfiring (which i knew) and that there is a bad grounding on #4 and #6. They could not tell me exactly what was wrong and they will not go any further than computer diagnostics unless they can return the car to completely stock (and charge me a buttload of money in the process). I think that it is either the ecu or i fried a couple of wires. Anyone have any thoughts on this before I spend anymore money?

Damn, Pulstar is sh*t. They rip people off and f*ck their cars up. Definitely give them a call and let 'em hear it...

Have you verified that the coil packs are plugged into the correct spark plugs? Did you do anything else during the install?

The installation of the plugs was the only thing that I did at that time. During the install the coils were put back one at a time as the plugs were changed so there is no chance of them having been mixed up.

Yeah, maybe you reversed the #4 and #6 plug wires.

Thank you all very much. Especially you 5150. I was not going to do anything else today because I do not have a garage. But reversing those wires was about the only thing under the sun that I had not tried and I could not wait. That was it, reversing the wires! I thought I put everything on one at a time but apparently not. I am an idiot.

That is incredible, I took this thing to a mechanic and a dealership and nothing. A few hours after posting on this forum--problem solved.

Glad it was something simple. Usually if something goes wrong immediately after install of a part, it's usually a simple oversight by the installer. What is really sad is the dealer totally missed this ........or the tech was playing dumb and was getting ready to rack you up for $$$ in needless repairs. Reversed plug harnesses would have been the first thing you'd look for if you were a qualified tech.

longstroke12, did you put the pulstar plugs back in? I was thinking of getting them but don't know if it's worth it.

DON'T GET THEM, I've heard horror stories, ceramic part breaking in half, the actual electrode breaking off and falling into the motor, I have them... and my car idles funny now, think mine broke off too... but just wanted to warn you, while they did tests and all, no one has tested them for reliability, i'm at 4000 miles now, every one says they get problems at 5k or more, so i'm going to take them out soon, not worth the risk, stay iridium or platinum.
