motordyne spacer 1/2 fit??
motordyne spacer 1/2 fit??
Hello everyone,
I am looking into a 1/2 inch spacer for a g35 coupe.
Motodyne's website states that the 1/2 inch on a coupe will not work with the engine cover??? Is the hood clearance a problem on the coupe? It works with the sedan, but not the coupe?

The first sentence on the site. So I cannot go engine cover with the 1/2 spacer??Anyone have the spacer with the engine cover on the forum???

The engine cover does fit with 1/2" spacer because the 2 studs and to 2 screws that hold the engine cover on, are to short. Also I'm petty sure if it did fit, the engine cover would rub the hood no matter what you have, Coupe or Sedan. On the other hand the engine cover fits with the 5/16" spacer. Here a picture of setup back in the day. If you look closely, you will see my spacer.

you mean DOES NOT fit lol
you can fit the engine cover, i have the 1/2" on my coupe with the cover on.
it does rub in two or three places. i don't need to mod it. if your ok with it rubbing then when you put it on first slightly put the two nuts that go on the front on then put the two screws that go in the back. tighten the back ones first then the front. i just finger tighten it on.

If you invert the grommets (meaning take them out and turn them upside down) the cover will fit (at least on my 04 sedan)… I don’t run with an OEM cover, but I tried it a couple years ago (or more) just to see if it fit – and it does.
But go ceverless... or get a half cover.
