I posted this in the oil use TSB, I have a 06 M-35 that was using close to a quart every 1000 miles,car had 25000 when I bought it. The oc was checked twice by the dealer, once at 1000 miles then they sealed the motor and checked it again at 2000 miles. Both times the measurment was 8 mm low on the stick. Dealer said we have authorization for new motor. Motor in and so far I'm a happy camper. The dealer said that they replace G motors but very seldom a M, I wonder if it is the type of driving that a G gets v/s a M. the reason I say this is because I have owned a coupe and know how I drove it compared to the M.

 

05-06 sedans. 07 sedans have the hr motor.

 

is this issue just on the 6MT or does the 05 auto have this issue also?

 

i have scheduled a appointment with the same dealer. I go in monday. wish me luck.

 

Is this something that most dealers are aware of, so when I go in tomorrow on another issue I could bring it up and they would know what I am talking about?
