Talking New engine swap has been approved!

I've been doing the OC test with Courtesy Infiniti of Tampa for the last 2 months. On the last test after 1800 miles, my level was at the low mark. They kept my car for the weekend to send the claim to Infiniti headquarters. They also gave me a 2007 G35 sedan as a loaner. Got a call from them today and they're replacing the engine with a new one! I was really surprised on how easy this process has been. I didn't even have to furnish maintenance records. Its Christmas in July! Just wanted to share my experience with you guys. Good luck to all who are going thru this.

Engine Replaced....!

That's great to hear, Infiniti/Nissan is finally stepping up. Must realize the
issue is there's not ours! Did you happen to ask what it would cost to replace
with a 3.7....I would have.

Congrats.

Just got my car back after the engine replacement. Unfortunately, no warranty on the new engine. It's whatever you have remaining going forward. Unless they tell you different from what I was told.

They just told me my car passed the test. Apprently i was at 7mm and I need to be down to 5mm before they'd do the swap.

My advice is to take the car on a long road trip. The dealership told me the same thing after my first test where it was only city driving. My dad(mechanic) told me to take it on a 100-150 mile round trip to really put the engine to the test. Sure enough it burned thru the oil since the cylinders were going at a much higher rate since I did 70-80 mph for a longer period. Good luck!

My 2005 G35 6MT coupe was burning a lot of oil and there is a TSB on that issue. Monitor your oil if you own a 2005-2006 6MT.
