having car trouble w/ steering

so recently i have a 6mt coupe when i turn (i.e. going on the freeway ramp ) im usually in 3rd or whatever and the car starts jerking and when i look at the odometer the "slip" blinks.. what do you guys think the problem is? it just keeps on jerking while i turn...i need to either put it in neutral while i turn to stop this problem. hmm

Are you accelerating when this happens? Whats your speed? How are your rear tires?

One possibility could be that your car doesn't like your new tire size and traction control is kicking in....

I actually think it may be the turning at 60 mph and still accelerating while VDC is on. The car is jerking because its basically applying the brake for you so you slow down. Thats when the slip light comes on. Do you let off the accelerator when this happens or do you mash through it?

I live near you, and if you're talking about those 10 freeway ramps, 60 is probably a bit too fast for them. Even the Eastbound baldwin exit ramp, 60 is a bit too fast for it. If these are the ramps you're taking at 60mph, slow down. You're gonna fly off them one day.

it just recently happened it never happeend before. it may be the tires? i recently got these tires like about 2 weeks ago and this started happening. so basically the rear tires are different brands vs. the front

It happens to me every now and then, I'm running a diff brand on the front temporarily, just drive slower or turn of VDC lol. Other than that unless you're a crazy driver when it rains you should be okay.

are the new tires the same brand as the old? if not what are they?

when i got new rears tires (t1r's) with the same #'s, that happened to me also. it took time but it went away after a few months and a alignment.

Makes me wonder if having different tires front and back, one that would grip better than the other throw your VDC off.
