Header Back?
Header Back?
I'm thinking about buying an 06 coupe 6MT but am trying to find the right car with the right miles (i.e. not with 20,000 miles put on by a 21 year old kid). I used to own a WRX which had very easy performance mods, ECU reflash (Stage 1) Turbo-Back exhaust and reflash (Stage 2) and upgraded turbo + reflash (Stage 3) using a Cobb AP. The G35 though seems to be little less mod friendly.
I've been searching the forums for a few days now and it seems like the basic thing to do is an uprev(?), exhaust, and intake. As far as the exhaust, are there header back exhausts or just cat back?
A stock 06/07 G35 Coupe as what, 210rwhp? How much could you expect to gain before getting into forced induction with just simple bolt ons? (considering it will be a daily driver with a little more pep)
Thanks for heads up in making this decision

ill take a stab at ya lol, ok the 06 has the rev up motor which has 296 or 298 hp and 260 tq. as far as power goes i would first get the motordyne plenum spacer and then an intake headers and exhaust, then a ecu reflash, with these cars all that $ would prolly only net you about 40 more pony's out back, thats why most if not all of us here go FI these motors respond very well to boost on a stock block the majority are gettin 400 on stock internals anything more and your going to want to build.
sorry guys not tryin to get my flame suit on, meant to say "CAT BACK" as far as $ for the ecu and exhaust, and all the other things, id would say at minimum your looking at 2500 but then it all depends on what product your going to buy and who your tuner is going to be for your ecu needs. i would def say save up a lil more and go FI, its so much cheaper in the long run. cant think of anything else yet.
