FI Intimidator with SC?
FI Intimidator with SC?
Any chance the FI Intimidator will work with Vortech SC? Thinking of going FI (Vortech probably) now, which I didn't think I would but already have my FI exhaust and FI HFCs. Would I have to upgrade to the Eliminator or whatever their other, bigger exhaust system is called?

I would stick with what you have if you are planning on going with the SC. The dominator (3" TD) might make you lose too much low end torque and that will hurt the performance of the SC since it's belt driven off the crank. The Intimidator will be perfect for you application. Now if you want to hang a couple of hairdryers off your manifolds then you would get a little bit extra by going with the Dominator.
I've got that exhaust with the vortech tuner kit 3.12 pulley, headers and I USED to have FI HFC's but they burnt up in about 1 month, so now I have FI Test Pipes. I would recommend going with test pipes right away.
I dynoed 323 whp on a Dyno Dynamics with HFC's
Then they burnt up and I installed Test Pipes and got a re-tune and dynoed 351whp on a Dyno Dynamics
All the tuning and installs were done at Funtion:Tuned so don't think I'm making it up. I got almost 30whp from swapping to test pipes

I'm thinking that the HFC were messed up the whole time, but who knows. Everything worked great at first, but then every day the power felt less and less, until it was pathetic, then I took it back to Dave at FT, and he pulled out the HFC's and they were completely clogged due to being burnt up. Then went on the Test Pipes, and I felt like it was a completely different car.
I've got a 5AT btw, so 351whp on a DynoDynamics is pretty sweet
To the OP, FI Intimidator is great with the SC, it sounds very deep mean, not ricer at all. Obviously, based on my experience, I'm not a fan of the HFC

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!.
Great info guys! I don't have headers, never really planned on getting them. Alreadfy have OSIRIS so this could be tweaked. Vortech with OSIRIS and some FI test pipes! I can swing that.

SDGeneralCounsel, yes I have a non rev-up motor, and therefore a non-revup motor kit, I also have a 5AT.

- ballpark hp numbers for non-REVUP engine on a typical dynojet SAE corrected generally are in the neighborhood of:
320-335 whp, stock vortech tune with stock pulley and stock everything else on car (stock exhaust, cats, etc)
340-350 whp tuned
350-370 whp add exhaust, HF cats, plenum, and tuning
370-390 whp add 3.12 pulley and tuning
380-400 whp add headers and/or test pipes, and tuning
390-420 whp add 2.87 pulley and tuning
420-440 whp add cams and tuning
440-475 whp add water/meth injection, more timing, at least half race gas (96 octane or higher) and tuned
My dyno was a DD and read 351whp. That is about 396whp on a dynojet, which puts me exactly where I want to me and follows right along with where I SHOULD be with these mods. I am also reaching the limits of a motor with stock internals. So I am quite happy, and my numbers are very sweet to me. If your buddy is making 370 with a 5AT non-revup on a DynoDynamics, GREAT FOR HIM. I thank your for your attempt to be an a$$.
