took my car to the dealer 2 weeks ago because It had a clicking noise coming from the engine when accelerating (happens only at low RPMs, 1000-2500) and I think it consumes too much oil. They told me that the pinging noise is octane ping and I should use octane boost to clear it up. They also started an oil consumption test. I used the octane boost and various fuel system cleaners and it helped out a little.

brought the car to the dealer yesterday for the 1000 mile oil level check and it was 3/4 qts of oil low. Im guessing at 3000 mlies thats about 2.25 qts of oil im losing. bringing it back again in 1000 miles for another check. As for the pinging, I got them to do an induction system cleaning and it helped out somewhat. I still get some pinging but might be within tolerence of what the book says.

Ive been reading the threads on this forum pertaining to octane ping and oil consumption and man you guys have helped me out a great deal.

1. what else can I do to eliminate the pinging? I do use only premium gas.
2. Can the pinging be linked to something else?
3. am I gonna have a problem with warranty issues (oil consumption) because I have a fujita air intake?

If they weren't going to warranty the engine because of your intake, they wouldn't have started the oil consumption test
