I've read through most of the grounding kit thread that was started by gordon. I know that there is a 5 wire kit, and then there is a 6 & 7 "upgrade" . what is the final count on the grounding cables and is there any place i can find a post that has a "schematic" for these ground points...??

 

I too have grounding kits i cant install. Im in dying need of a DIY for it. I purchased the HKS 8 wire grounding system. Can someone offer the DIY for it plz??? It came with instructions but the instructions were in japanese and the pictures help very little.

 

The 'theory' behind the HKS system is a bit different than with some of the other kits on the market as they use a central grounding block that is attached to the battery negative I believe. The ground points that I've developed for GroundingGear may or may not work because of this. It's better to follow the kit manufacturer's instructions, or call them for tech support, and they can send you a set of instructions in English.

The information on the H-G Resource thread should be sufficient for you to determine what points have been used. Liability issues prevent another manufacturer to advise on specific points by a kit or equipment made by someone else.

I just installed the 5 wire kit and I thought it would take me 1.5 hours but it took me more like 25-30 mins. First time ever modding my car. Easy as pie but made 2 boo boos. 1. dropped the neg. battery nut into battery compartment. don't know where to find it now, maybe have to dismount the battery? Also dropped the washer that sticks to the engine cover into the engine bay. I have a feeling it might be on the bottom plastic cover but not sure, I've driven freeway a few times might've fell out. Is there anyplace I can order or purchase these parts?

After installation, I felt faster shifts but it doesn't seem like its doing it anymore. I think MM is more responsive but I can't really tell for sure.

Gordgee: do you sell the 6th, 7th, and other wires as add on to the 5 wire kit system? If so, what do u charge? I think I need someone to help me with the 7th.
