Can Anyone Please Clarify This Exhaust Question For Me Please?

Merry Christmas everyone!

First of all, I did search for this and received very mixed and confusing comments about this so I'm trying to receive the correct answer. I'm sorry for any frustration this may cause anyone.

I'm interested in buying the Nismo catback. I know that I have to buy an extension since the G is longer. The part that I'm confused about is that some people say that 6" extension is long enough to clear the bar (not sure which bar they mean) and then extend the tips (if desired), while may people say that 6" will not clear the bar and you must have an 8" extension regardless.

Could anyone please clarify this for me so I don't make a messed up decision.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Tristan

HMm. Why not just buy one specifically for the G35?

Not sure what bar they are referring to but I believe the 6in extension is the only piece that would allow it to fit on the G.. then the tips are very tucked so extending them would be a good idea.. maybe they thought you could just get an 8in extension and the tips will be flush? i doubt this would work though

I edited the post a tad. I should've said that it was one that was on a G35 but from what I understand can also be on the Z? Make sense?

Sorry about that.

Yeah, this is a little why I'm confused. I know that a few people bought their Nismo exhausts from thenismoshop.com that used to offer them with the 8" extension piece, but since Nismo increased the price, stopped selling them. I'm just really confused as far as the options associated with the Nismo exhaust!

Haha it's okay. Each post I read says something different. The best one I read so far was on YouTube and said that the 6" pipe requires the extended tips and the 8" does not and would be fine. I guess I just wish someone could validate that statement!
