Technosquare ???
I'm changing out my exhaust & intake. Thinking about the Technosquare to make the most of the upgrades.
My only concern is what an ECU change would do to my Warrantee.
Anyone know??

Once available, a reflash would not be noticeable (too easily).

Thanks guys;
I guess I'll have to wait until they crack the new code

Am I just a wus or does anyone else worry about their ECU going AWOL during shipping?

If you're a wus, then so am I. I'm heading to S. Dakota for 7 days (taking 2 weeks off of work) and thought that this would be a good time to do the "ECU upgrade". I'm just worried that something will go wrong.
Gotta check to make sure my January 28 delivery has the correct number on it. Can anyone post a photo of the location of the ECU? Not sure exactly where it is.
TIA.

Re: Technosquare ???
go to technosquare's website, find your car and it will show a how to on removing the ecu. Your ecu is behind the glove box mounted verticle. I just got mine back on Saturday. Nice mod for the AT guys. Going to the track Thursday, and will report the changes.

Re: Technosquare ???
From what I understand, you will get much better results on a 5AT than a 6MT. The only advantage for you 6MT guys is the redline upped to 7100, the A/F and timing won't make a huge difference for a stock car. On the 5AT's the stock ECU closes the TB to 80% before shifts at redline, TS removes this so shifts at redline or faster and adds more kick.

Re: Technosquare ???
If that's true I'm going to request my redline remain unchanged until I can demonstrate to myself that I've altered the power curve dramatically on the top end..
At stock, the AT already shifts at the optimal point. Tons of HP loss after 6000, so why the heck would I want to run an farther than I would have to to ensure when it shifted, it shifted in the thick part of the power band? For those that have increased their top end HP this makes sense, but for those that haven't altered where the peak HP hits, it would not.

Re: Technosquare ???
That's true Cat, but the factory ECU adds extra gas near redline, that is why power peaks near 6000 making it too rich. Once you add more air products, plenum, then you have more available air. Since the plenum is an after MAF sensor mod, the stock ecu fuel maps will not take advantage of the extra air since it doesn't know it's there. In the auto mode the car will still shift at 6500/6700, but in Manumatic mode you can shift at 7100/7200. The car pulls STRONG all the way to 7100. This is where the TS fun is.
You cannot alter the power curve without tuning the ecu, period. With your mods, Cat I'd let TS do what they do and just trust them. I sent them a list of my mods as well as a dyno w/ A/F reading of 13.7-13.5.
Dragon: I would only do the ECU upgrade if you have a major breathing mod. Plenum or high flow cats. Intake and Exhaust just are not radical enough to max out the stock ecu maps. my $.02

Re: Technosquare ???
gspot,
Those are good points and I agree with all of them. But I'm going to wait and see what happens by viewing my A/F and curve on a dyno first....after I get my mods done, but before I send away for a reflash. I hate being the guinea pig and T/S hasn't even cracked the dang code yet for the 2004.5 ECU.
Also, every car is slightly different and I just like seeing the data for myself and making sure my mods meet my mission. I'm not sure I like all the fuel they're taking off the table and I may not want to sacrifice it for a few ponies.
From what DaveO has implied to me through resources of his, the 2004.5 ECU may be "thinking" a little differently in the way it handles the maps that in previous ECUs.
Thanks for the comments.
