I just did the side blinker mod on my coupe. It was really simple... The DIY says that the purple/white wire needs to be cut on the passenger side. what i did on both sides is splice into the green/white wire. It could be because I have an '04, but i just connected the black wire from the side marker to the green white coming off of the blinker, and abracadabra, my clear corners blink now

i have the exact same car as you (minus the navi) and followed the DIY guide to a T, and mines works fine...
green wire for one side, and purple wire for the other

you just need to remove the front section of the wheel well liner. It is held on by some plastic clips, a screw, and about 8 bolts + 2 more clips under the bumper.

Naw G ... I just hand jacked the car and poped the center plugs on the plastic retainers, 5 bottom 10mm, top phillips screw; cut the black wire 1/2" from the top end; crimp-clamped the green/wht & purple/white to each sides black, taped-up and snaped it all together again.

Oh yeah, my wife was due back any minute.

Actually, there is two stages to the wire. So either way is good. I did the green/white wire on mine on both sides, but you can use the purple wire as well. It was a while ago, but I am pretty sure the purple wire goes into a wiring harness, then comes out as a green/white wire.

Awesome mod, but I wish the blinkers would work in day time, too. Seems like the side marker blinker only works when side markers are turned on.

btw: I did the purple/greem wires~ Works fine. Took an hour, I didn't remove the wheels.
