How does everyone check their oil? I know this seems like a silly question, but I can't seem to get an accurate reading. This has got to be the most frustrating thing for me and my G. When I check the dipstick, I have spots of oil at the bottom, I have oil 3 inches up from there, I have oil 3-4 inches higher than that. Its crazy. Is there a trick or something for checking the oil in a G? I have an 04 6mt. I tried searching but only came up with oil consumption issues.

 

just look for where the solid line ends. it usually easiest to see on the back side of the stick.
