I installed my ztube and popcharger last night..... i didnt get a chance to drive her cause my friends dad's car was parked in the driveway were we installed and we didnt wanna fire up his m5 at in the morning and have him come outside and freak out . Well we just turned on my car and reved her a little. It sounded almost exactly the same to me as before.... but i hear a whistle kinda sound. My friend said that its probably normal for that cause other cars that he knows whistle with new intake too.... iwa s just wondering before i go drive her around.... should i be concerned about this sound?!

well i just read on another post popcharger vs k&n a little down the page (right now at least) that someone "loves that sound of the whistling popcharger when...." so i guess it is normal.... i dunno... if someone else could just reassure me i would feel better tho ;P. Also... my i was wondering if i should still insulate my A/C line even tho it doesn really come that close to rubbing. It was talking about rubbing right where the MAF/Ztube come together with that metal clamp right? Ive said it before and i'll seay it again... for some reason im better off when people describe things with words instead of pictures... ive been over the thread at the top of the page.... and thatts where the pictures seem to be showing.... mine is a good half an inch away tho. Im prolly gonna go buy a little plastic tube and get it on there anyways tho just so i can sleep better at night.

its normal, its just the sound of the cone filter sucking in air. You will hear it when you shift gears at higher rpms.

whistle is normal.....seems to go away after a while though...then you may only hear it when u accelerate

Yea the Injen gives me a crazy sound, whisteling to the max. Some people thought a turbo was spooling up while having the throttle down slightly so all you hear is the air being rushed in. I also live in NY so people do know cars and it doesnt sound like a turbo only cause I hear a lot of them and have driven them, but from the next car over it sounds like a lot more then an intake!! You'll enjoy it and the looks on people's faces when going WOT... Martin

i cant really hear the whistle when i am driving the car with the hood closed..... i only heard it when it was open.... but i love how my car sounds from 3.5rpms on now.... it sounds REALLY REALLY good. Much better than it did before. I can also feel the extra hp in 1st and a little in 2nd in the higher rpms a little bit. I didnt at first... but it seems like its gettting faster and faster the more i drive with it
